On the 3^rd of October 2011, FEU-FERN College Basic Education Department’s chosen students participated in the first QC Youth Summit on Tourism which was facilitated bby the University of the Philippines-Asian Institute on tourism (UP-AIT) that took place at the Amoranto Theater, Scout Chuatoco, Quezon City.

The said event with the theme, “Empowering the Youth to be Advocates of tourism”, held contests such as Essay Writing contest with Alexandra Ayers for the Filipino category and Cornelius Velasquez for the English category; Public Speaking contest with Chedric Angeles for the Filipino category and Amani Aguinaldo for the English category; QC Youth Ambassadors on Tourism with Angel Saculo as the female representative and Amani Aguinaldo as the male representative; and Isabelo Mari Feliciano, Sun Valerio, and Keith Mausisa for Tourism Quiz Bee.

At the end of the day, Fernians were able to show what they’ve got. The results were as follows:

Essay Writing contest

Filipino category: Alexandra Ayers – 7^th place

English category: Cornelius Velasquez – 6^th place

Public Speaking contest

Filipino category: Chedric Angeles – 5^th place

English category: Amani Aguinaldo – 5^th place

QC Youth Ambassador on Tourism

Female category: Angel Saculo – 5^th place

Male category: Amani Aguinaldo – 1^st place

Tourism Quiz Bee

Isabelo Mari Feliciano, Keith Mausisa, and Sun Valerio – 6^th place
